On selection of your research paper in Scopus indexed journals in engineering
Selecting a proper journal to publish your research findings is one of the acute steps in publicizing your research findings. Your research will need to be published in the right journal in order to reach your selected audience and for your research to have the desired impression on them.

Select your Audience – concentrate more on finding journals which are most commonly used by researchers and authors in your field of education. Understanding the readership of a journal is important. It will be very helpful for you to become familiar with the scope and aim of the journals you are considering. For example, if your topic is a focus on the part within a discipline then look for journals with a narrow focus that will specifically select other specialists in your field, rather than multidisciplinary journals with a wider focus.

Consider journal type - As discussed in previous parts, it will be very important to ensure that your journal is trustworthy, scholarly and peer-reviewed for publication.

Find the basic journal information - Learn about the flow of the journal, the number of times it publishes/year, number of articles/year, and so forth

Consider the influence, ranking and indexing status by citation databases - These aspects will give you an indication of journal quality. Some factors that are considered are, a rate of citations from articles in the journal, articles published in a year, citation influence, the journal influence index, the proximity index, and many others. The indexing status refers to whether or not the journal is indexed by any main citation databases, which will increase the influence of your publication.

Likelihood of Acceptance - It can be helpful to review the acceptance rates to the journals you are considering to control the competitiveness of the journal. Several journals have acceptance rates of 10% or less and it is important to be accurate in your journal selection. Some journals publish their acceptance rates on their websites or you may contact their Editor in Chief to find out

The review process - You may want to examine the review process for the journal that you are interested in. How long does it take for a typical review process of a journal? What is their timeline for alerting authors? If selected, how long will it take for an article to publish? You can look at the website or print copy for information about the review process

Fees - Be aware that several journals may have fees for things such as reviewing articles, fees for use of color, processing fees, and so forth. Make sure you are aware of potential fees before submitting a document to any journal

Author's Rights - Journals also differ in rights that the author is able to retain. For instance, few will allow authors the rights to their peer-reviewed article and they can publish it on a website. Other journals are more restrictive.
